Hubby birthday gift
I just got my new BG Page of the Month kit that I purchased through my LSS The Craft Nook and I just LOVE the new Origins papers! I am not one for green but these are fantastic. It was my hubby's 34th birthday last Tuesday so on Monday night I scrambled to get this project done and I just love how it turned out. I wanted to make a frame of our family and this is what I came up with. It didn't take very long and I got to use my new Martha Stewart butterfly punch (can you tell I just love that punch!). I was super easy and quick to do plus I got to use up some items from my stash! Thanks for looking. Don't forget to stop by Friday am as it's Crop Suey's 6th Challenge and it's my turn to play!

Two hybrid layouts
I just LOVE hybrid projects. I do find it tough sometimes to get that perfect element for my pages as I do live in a small town and access to the new great products is hard. I did get to my LSS the Craft Nook (1.5 hrs away - make sure to sign up for their wonderful newsletter) and did get a few new goodies that I will have to use soon. So I search online for digital elements that I can use on my projects.
My first page was made using my Origins BG Page of The Month kit from my LSS The Craft Nook and a FREE digital kit from Peppermint Creative. I printed the green clover swirl and the 'lucky' definition onto transparency and the clovers, Bingo card, and title onto cardstock. I wanted a pop of colour and the purple in the title was the inspiration for the purple. I bought a Martha Stewart punch that I have been wanting since xmas and used some pearls from the dollar store. Happy on how it turned out.
I have been wanting to scrap this picture (and many more from this photoshoot) for a long time now but never had the right combo of papers and elements. I dug out this paper that I have had for a VERY long time and all the pattern paper is from my scrap box. Again I printed some digital elements onto transparency paper for inkjet printers. I found the doilies on Martha Stewarts site (click on link) and the vintage elements were from Gypsy Chic that I purchased from scrapartist.com. The title cherish is a word art file I got from houseof3.comhttp://www.houseof3.com/digital-warehouse/words/handwritten-brush-kit.html I love how this page turned out as I wasn't sure when I was piecing it together.
I do have a few more projects to upload so make sure to check back soon! Have a wonderful spring day!

Crop Suey Challenge #5 Embrase the White Space
Crop Suey's 5th challenge is up and it was a tough one for me. 'Embrase the White Space' is the challenge this round. I had a very hard time and ended up with two other attempts with no luck (see Why So Serious, and Just Me & My Dad), then it doned on me to go to Sweet Shoppe Designs for some inspiration and this is what I came up with and I LOVE it! I had printed up a bunch of images on some transparencies and used a few on this layout (See 'Love', swirl in botom corner and floral frame behind picture). This picture is of my grandmother and I in 1975. I used a digital frame around the pic and did try some photo editing as it was an old picture. I also printed up a digital Bingo card from a free image I found on line. I made the flower from fabric. Used some papers from my BG kit.
So make sure to head on over to Crop Suey and make sure to play along! Thanks for stopping by and have a great spring day!

Done all my projects!!! Yipee...
So.... what am I going to buy now that my 20 projects are done? I do have a few things on my list and will be picking them up on Thursday. Will post pics later. I LOVED this challenge! Some of the final projects I can't post yet but will as soon as I can so keep posted. The three that I can show you are as follows.
The first is one of my favourites! It was done very quickly and I got to make some cool fabric flowers. Don't you just love the pink one? I will post a tutorial soon on how to make these.
The next was my last project. I am happy it turned out. Got to do some embroidery on it and used up a few transparencies I printed on my computer.
The last one.... Don't love it but it was just one of those fun ones I did with no computer use as hubby was on laptop so i had to handwrite my journaling (I hate my handwriting)..... I think I just have a hard time with the bright colours.
Have a great March break - I am working so not much of a break ;) but going on holidays in April. Bye for now

Snow Much Fun - Project #15
This page was done using some of my goodies that I won from The Next Step. I received an amazing kit from A Million Memories and what a kit it was! So lovely! This picture was perfect for the wintery pages that came in the kit. I used alot of sparkles - stickles, sequins, sparkly ribbon, my own glimmer mist..... so much fun. I used an old snowflake wood piece for behind the journaling that I painted with lots of layers of teal, blue and white. Also used some rubons that I have been wanting to use for some time and some old snowmen buttons that came with the snow metal letters. I lost the O while making this page so used one of the snowmen. This was a fun day!
Thanks for looking!

Crop Suey Challenge #4 - Use Your Scraps Challenge
Good morning! Crop Suey's challenge #4 is up so make sure to check it out! It's my turn to play and what a fun challenge this one is! You can only use scraps to make your project. All scraps should by rule be smaller than 4"! I keep everything so this was a perfect project for me! I have been inspired by Kate Mason lately and decided to try my hand at her style. I piled all my neutral scraps and cut them into smaller pieces ranging in many sizes. Then I used my oil pastel and coloured the sides of each piece then adhered them onto a piece of scrap piece of printer paper that I had (this was the only piece that was bigger than the rule :). Lots of piecing and the house was the same. I stiched zig zag stiches on the roof to mimic shingles and did lots of layering on the house. I painted the sky and grass with watered down acrylic paints and then used my charcoal pencil to outline. I also used scraps for the free hand scalloped border and just duplicated them to create the full border. The rub on is by Melissa Francis. This project is the cover of one of my family photo albums.
Make sure to hop on over and play! Have a great day - it's Friday and the weather is beautiful! Spring is on it's way!
