Few pages for this cold blah day

As my last post mentioned today was a very blah day... bad day at work, at home, son is sick (again), and it's COLD!!!! It was -27C (so -16.6F)! .... anywhooo....

So here are a few pages I have worked on this weekend....

The page above was a lift from Larissa Albernaz. Was a super easy page to do with just some of my scraps. Sorry pics are not great. Just love taking whatever scraps and working with them. I used lots of supplies that I don't play much with such as flocking (on squirrel), embossing powder (behind letters), old rub-ons (letters). I have had this frame forever and it was perfect for this picture!

The page below is tough for me. I have a hard time with bright colours like this. But love how it turned out These are very old papers (probably from 2004), the letters are old, I bought the whale stickers in 2007, and there are a few other little embellies from way back in the day too!

Page Maps Contest

I haven't entered a challenge in a while and thought it would be fun to do one again. So I headed over to Page Maps blog and there was this perfect sketch challenge!  Here's the sketch and then my page below....

I used BG Green at Heart papers, embellishements and alphas, some old rub-ons, and hybrid elements printed on transparencies. Love how it turned out. Ok... I am loving Jen Johner's style and am actually loving using my handwritting on my pages (as you will see!) I also love her little birds that she uses alot (she even got a tattoo of them). The journaling and title were inspired by a post that Ronda Palazzari had - just needed to scrap it as it is exactly how I feel - Thanks Ronda for putting it down and sharing!

Thanks for stopping by! It's COLD here and today was not a great day all around so I need to get back into my space and create some more! Bye for now,

Mini Journal - my fundamentals for 2011

I made this mini journal based on a poster that I blogged about earlier. This was a hybrid project as I designed all the embellishments in PS and then cut them out and made this super easy mini-journal. Every pocket is embellished with one of the top top fundamentals and then there is a tag in the pocket that I can write a small little note to myself.

Thank you Corey of Chasing Light Studio for taking the pictures! I greatly appreciate it!

Bye for now,

Crop Suey January Challenge

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a merry holiday season. January's challenge is up at Crop Suey!!

We challenge you to use the following ad to get your inspiration for your scrappy project/layout/card or whatever you choose to do!

As soon as I saw this ad I knew that I wanted to do something about the future and about hands. Parker's little fingers get so abused day-in and day-out as we check his blood sugar (using a small needle) on average of 8-10 times a day (more when he's sick - which is alot). He never complains and trust me - it hurts! I have tried it and it's worst then smashing your finger in the drawer. So I had to do a page based on that. I am loving Tara Anderson and Jen Johner right now and wanted to use them as inspiration for my page. I love the BG Pyrus papers but they were too busy for this page so I painted the background and of course used some spray paint a-la-debee. LOVE how this page turned out. Even love my handwritting on it! Sorry pics aren't great as usual! The bottom is really even but curled up and didn't secure it down!

Make sure to check out Crop Suey to play along as we have a great sponsor - COSMO CRICKET!!! Just love their products!

Happy New Years! What are your resolutions? I have lots of personal stuff going on right now so my main personal one is strength. I need to find and restore my inner strength as I have to find it within myself to move on after some very big/scary decisions that I have made in the past couple of months. I am scared silly as to what 2011 is going to bring. On a scrappy note - I am going to make the same resolution as last year - I want to make 20 no make that..... 40 projects using my stash and I am not allowed to purchase new items (unless it's adhesive). Shouldn't be too bad as I have been loving making items for hello *there* and using my stash....promise - pics to come - there are lots of goodies to share!

Bye for now!
