Lily-Ann Finds

I totally scored this Saturday at my favourite thrift shop here in Haliburton! I got all this for $5!!!!! The salt and pepper shakers (my initals) were in the free bin - I think that I am going to alter them for my scraproom. I got 4 vintage kids books (my addiction), a very cool flower press kit with flowers already in it! Some more buttons, rick-rack and trim, a cool frame that I am going to alter for the 'Found it at the dump' submission. Thanks to Bree at Crop Suey for the inspriation for my submission (pictures will come soon). A very cool pack of vintage iron-on tranfers for embroidery (have some ideas for that stuff), plus two pairs of pants for my son Parker and a cool shirt for him too and of course a little truck for him (he wouldn't give it up for the photo :))! Some days depending on who's working you can get the best stuff there!

Easter Egg Exchange

For our monthly meeting of the Art Hive Artist Collective we did an easter egg hunt. Everyone was to bring at least one easter egg done in any medium. This is the egg I brought. I covered a plastic egg with some vintage Beatrix Potter pages on top, then took some scraps and covered the bottom. Made the flower from scraps, stamens and feathers. I have wanted to make my own glass pebbles for a while now but it wasn't until I saw Bree's post on Crop Suey's blog that I got my behind in gear! Thanks for the kick Bree! The bees are from a vintage kids book. I attached magnets onto the back.
I was lucky to have found one of Darby Bayly's eggs! She rocks! I will put a picture up when I find my battery pack (still haven't found it after the move - thank honey for the great pic of my egg!).

Thanks for looking!

3 new pages and a mini album

I have been on a roll! Since I have set up my scraproom in the new house I have been busy with creating! First it was the 2 cute too spook page, then the fall album, then in two days I finished the Through & Through page and the Family page.
For the 2 cute 2 spook page: One of my son's xmas gifts was this little people set that came in this cutest box ever! The background was a sky so right away I knew I had to do something with it. I have also been holding onto this paper that had giraffe's on it for quite some time now that I got at a dollarstore - but you can't really see it! Used vintage paper, lots of old paper in this one and a giraffe embellie from a baby set I had forever ago! So used up alot of old stock on this one.

For the Now it's Fall album I had SOOO much fun with this one! The papers are all from this great kit Want S'more that I got at Crop Suey the papers are Cosmo Cricket. As soon as I got the kit I knew what I wanted to do with it! I had this great Maya Road mini album and lots of great fall pics! Then when I started I looked through my many vintage kids books (it's an addiction!) and found this great little book called 'Now it' Fall'. How PERFECT! So all the little quotes are from the book, as well as the title. Lots of burlap, distressing and lots of different fun techniques on this one!

Then on the Through & Through - You are a Leo page I used lots of fun techniques on this one! I made all my own 'glimmer mists' with all my left over oxides that I had from my soap making days so I went crazy! All the papers are from an add-on kit I bought again at Crop Suey. They are October afternoon. The background (the yellow) I made a mask with card stock to make the sun rays and used my homemade glimmer mist of yellow and bronze. Then I used some chalk to draw some highlights, then I used my Grafix's rubons I got at my local scrapstore and typed up all the characteristics of a Leo and rubbed them on. Then stiched the yellow. More burlap (loving that stuff right now), more October Afternoon papers, and a great picture of my son! The lion is from one of his pj's that was too stained to give away so I cut it up! Love to recycle items on my page! The crown is from one of my fav supplier's - Melissa Frances!

One the 'We are Family' page I used the new Basic Grey Marrakech. I get the BG Page Kit of the Month from my local scrapbook store and this is the first pack I've used. I used again my own glimmer mist to spray turquoise over a scalloped doily on the teal paper. Also used some paint, masking tape and I FINALLY used my pazzle for the butterflies! Love having my own space set up! I am soooo spoiled!
