Friend Birthday Box and Card (Lisa please don't read)

I wanted to post these pictures of a present I made for a new friend's birthday - so please don't continue Lisa :)

I am not happy lately with my pictures of my projects as I never get to photograph them during the day which is ideal. I work full time during the week and by the time I leave or come back it's not the optimal time to photograph. My hubby has set up a little studio downstairs but we are still lacking the right lighting. I have a great link for a tutorial that Studio Calico did on photographing your projects but they suggest daytime is best - which I know is true but hard to do. So please bear with me with these two pictures as they are not the best :(

I have sent off the present and these are the best pics I was able to get. I did a similar box for my mom for xmas and never did photograph it. So these two projects are number 12 and 13 of my 20 use your stash projects. Have one more to photograph - will do today if it's sunny as it's snowing here and it's pretty over cast.

Have a great day everyone and happy crafting!

Project #10 - 10 Years Together

Ok... I missed 2 projects on my project roll as I counted the medallion, and the two banners for Scrap Tiffany's blog as one project when in reality they are 3!

This page was done with more of the K&Company papers (can you tell I LOVE those papers!). This is not usual for me to use the same papers back to back but they are soooo lovely! This picture is an old one and we have been together 12 years but I don't have any recent pics! I guess that's what happens when your hubby is a photographer. No pictures of ourselves! I was inspired by Camille's page that she did for Crop Suey's 2nd Challenge by using the playing cards. I distressed it a bit and used the red as my accent colour. One another page from this paper pack there is this beautiful hydrangea and I wanted to recreate it out of paper. Love paper flowers! It was super easy. Just cut a circle then scalloped it and cut down a bit into the circle for the base. Then I cute a bunch of petals and punched a hole on the end of it and fed it onto a brad that came from the back of the base flower. Curled the petals a bit, folded the shorter center ones and put some stamens in.

Thanks for looking! Don't forget to check out the previous post to see who won the friends magnet clips!

Scrap Tiffany Blog Hop

It's here! Scrap Tiffany's Blog Hop! Scrap Tiffany is celebrating her one year anniversary with a Celebrations theme blog hop! Make sure to start at ScrapTiffany.com and follow the hopping fun! As soon as I saw that she was doing a blog hop I wanted to play along. I have been wanting to make some party favour type items for a while now. The first thing I did was the paper wreath and garland. Still only using products that I have on hand I managed to use an old wreath frame that I had bought years ago and some old vintage pages. I used my handmade spray inks and inked the vintage paper. I did a collage of elements from various elements I had on hand as well. For the garland I used doilies that I cut in half and some vintage paper that I also cut circles and then inked and cut in half. All of the garland was then sewed togehter. I also punched out some circles and adhered some chipboard letters to spell out celebrate. The picture isn't that great as the only good wall we have in the house is our bedroom wall that is this dark green. I wanted to use some teal and PINK (Tiffany's favourite colour!).

I had so many ideas but was only able to do a few of them. I wanted to make some favours so I took some old clothespins, covered with pattern paper, stamped Friends on it and then using some flowers and pearls made the magnet clips. ****Stay tuned to the end of this post for your chance to win these friends clips!*****

I used old scrabble tiles for the wine charms. I did glue varied pattern paper on the backs (sorry hubby forgot to take picture of backs :( ) and then using my glossy accents glued the front and back of the tiles to give them an epoxied look. I used little eye hooks on the tops of the tiles to secure my loops that I had from years ago of an old wine charm set I bought at good old Dollarama.

Now make sure to continue your blog hop by clicking on this link to go to Rebecca's blog! I just love Rebecca's style! Her kids are the cutest! Have fun!

*****To win the Friends magnet clips - please leave a comment on my blog by Sunday at 10pm and tell me what you did (or plan on doing) on Valentine's Day or Family Day (here in Ontario)******
Thanks for stopping by!

I adore you - project #8

Here is my 8th project of my 20 Use Your Stash Challenge! (#5,6,7) will be revealed next Saturday. This page is a scraplift of a digital layout I saw on Sweet Shoppe Designs that I just fell in love with! I was able to use more of the K&Company papers (I just love them!) and some elements from my A Million Memories kit I won from The Next Step in November. I also got to use some vintage text paper. Old picture of Parker but a cute one! I think the title is self-explanatory and I didn't need to journal on this one. I will be busy making some tags for an upcoming Creative Packaging class I am doing for a local Sew Resourceful program. So I will be MIA for projects - only tags. Bye for now.

Crop Suey Challenge #2

Crop Suey's 2nd challenge is up and it's my turn to play! This challenge is about a special man in your life. You can make anything you want - a card, layout, mixed media, tag, gift.... anything goes! Make sure to check out what the other fabulous Crop Chicks have created!

Here's my take on the challenge. I decided since Valentine's Day is just around the corner I wanted to make a Vday card for my hubby from Parker and I. I used three envelopes to make the card/mini album. I have been wanting to do one of these ever since I saw the how-to's on Heather Nichols blog (click on link to see tutorial). I used mostly BG Bittersweet papers and some vintage papers. I used regular shipping tags and my Distress Inks. Lots of stiching as usual and I used some old stickers from my stash from many years ago (hearts and fabric tags). I also used some vintage buttons that I used on the front cover to keep the 'book' closed.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to play along at Crop Suey!
