Who Am I? Scrap Across the Universe

I have been wanting to enter this great contest blog called Scrap Across the Universe but have never had a chance. Their contest this round is 'Who Am I?" I thought about doing a new page but thought of the Through & Through page I did and thougth it would be a great fit. This page is about how my son - Parker is such a Leo. He is sweet, compationate, dramatic, caring, loving, methodical, likes things status quo, and he must make the decisions (or think he does :) . So that's who he is (so far). I wonder all the time what he will be like when he is older? But for now, I am enjoying all his personality traits!

I loved making this page! I got to use my homemade spray inks, some new transfer paper (all the text in the sky), some papers from a kit I got at Crop Suey, a lion cut out from one of my favourite pj's of his when he was little and lots of other little elements! I just love this picture too!

Thanks for looking and wish me luck!

Ask Why - OLW #56

Phew! I have been hammering them out this week! It helped that I didn't have my son (for the first time!) for a 5 days! But he's back and I had some time this afternoon during his nap to get this one done. Wanted to do another One Little Word page. This week the word is WHY. Parker is starting to question 'why' and I thougth this would be a great page to do today! I wanted to play with some paint. It didn't end up the way I wanted it to so I covered up the orange part (which was a collage of text, stamps and more paint) with the text page. Wanted some peeking so cut circles out. I had originally wanted to use some BG Ambrosia pages but the yellow that I sprayed didn't work so I improvised. Did use Ambrosia red sheet and a few butterflies. Also used some dollarama stickers (teal ones) and to tie it all together I used LOTS of stiching on this one.

Did you notice that the paper behind the ask why is packaging from some BG brads? And the flower is made from a sewing pattern sprayed with my own spray ink.

Thanks for looking.... Might take a break on some pages this week and use some scraps to try making a necklace - see this link for tutorial....

My baby is now a little boy

I have been wanting to use this kit I got at Crop Suey for a long time now. I wasn't loving the page when I started but I liked how it turned out. All the papers are from the 'Whoo's coming for dinner' kit - including the milk tab. I also used vintage paper, some chipboard and a tag from BG. Am very happy with how it turned out. Journaling reads: Oh Parker you are growing up way to fast. I am scared to blink as when I open my eyes you will be a man. Please stay little for a while, love you xoxo'

Thanks for looking!

Oh - I didn't win the OLW word but did make it in their favourites slide show! Yipee!

The Magic of Bubbles

Here's another page that I have been wanting to do for a while. Again - yellow! Honestly it's not even my fav colour but was in the picture and I think it works....

Used some crumpled up vintage papers for the bottom, some vintage text printed on transparencies for the bubbles, glossy elements on my letters for bubbles, a vintage canadian stamp from the internet, a pebble I made with a tatoo from the pack used on my son's cheek, some roladex cards with Pa (for Parker).... and some little bubble beads.
Thanks for looking,

Page Maps Contest - Future Heart Breaker

I have finally printed the pictures to go on my three layouts. The first is another entry for a contest over at PageMaps. I used my goodies that I won from a few challenges ago - some BG June Bug papers (which I also got as one of my page of the month kits). I don't know what I have been doing but I have been using alot of yellow on these three pages.
Thanks for looking and wish me luck!

6lbs 12oz of Joy - OLW #55 Joy

Third time is the charm! I have been trying to submit a layout for One Little Word but every time for some reason my post doesn't get up on their blog. So I am submitting it early this time. The word this round is Joy. I was working on this page with the idea of either Pure Joy or Pure Love then OLW posted their word Joy - so voila!

Used my BG Wisteria papers from my Page of the Month Kit. Also used my crackle paint which I just love! Also used some pearls from Kaiser Kraft and of course some vintage papers and some new Prima leaves I got on sale at Micheals.
I just love this picture of my mom and stepdad when they first came to the hospital to meet my son - their first (and so far only) grandbaby! Can you tell how happy they are???

Thanks for looking!
