Party Hat

I made this party hat for the Art Hive's 'Be ONE with the Hive' celebration. I have been wanting to do some kind of mixed media collage style piece for a while. The paper on the hat and on the plate are from the receipt books we use at the Hive. These receipt books were for the old Welshes General Store (http://www.thearthive.com/) All the work bees are the current artist at the Hive. The artists on the banner are the founding members. I made the flowers out of tissue paper, kleenex, feathers and fibres. The little girl on the hat is actually my hubby's aunt. The paper on the wings and on the banner are from this old french poetry book that my grandmother treasured. My hubby took the picture that is inside the base of the cake stand. I made the stand out of a parfait glass and a plate that I decoupaged. I had so much fun making this! Thanks for looking!

Absolutely beautiful. You do have talent. You are you're g-grandma & grandma all rolled into one. Maybe a little of me. You are very special and I love you.

Ditto to the first two comments. The piece is very interesting and truly creative. From your hubby's aunt, I am honoured that you used my little girl image as part of the art piece. Stacy - continue to experiment - keep your creativity juices going.....YOU are Gooooood.
