Recently my life has been a little hectic! Working longer hours, my son is now in soccer, fundraising and well... just life. So I am horrible with keeping track of dates and events and never keep a daytimer up to date. So I decided to make a command centre in my kitchen. I scoured pinterest for ideas and got a mish-mash of ideas. Then it came to me and this is what came out of it! SOOOO EXCITED about it! We have used it all week and makes such a difference. My son Parker is getting involved too and learning his days of the week! Love it! Please leave a comment if you have any questions!

Washi Tape DIY
Wow... time sure flies! I am so sorry for being missing in action. So much has happened and it's not that I haven't been creating (well maybe not as much) it's just life has taken over. I did finally complete my Brave Girls Soul Restoration 1 and have pics to share soon, and have started SR2! So love these classes!
Well enough about that :)
I don't know about you but I have totally jumped on the washi tape band wagon! And why not? You can do so much with it! But until recently I didn't want to splurge on an online order as for me they are hard to find around here. So I thought I would try my hand at making my own.
Supplies you will need to gather:
- double sided tape
- tissue paper, napkins and/or sewing patterns (will be showing you how to use tissue paper)
- good scissors
- bone folder or fingers
I had bought some pretty teal colored napkins for a party and new that I had to use them in some projects. So find some pretty napkins and carefully separate the layers of the napkins. Mine had three layers. They are pretty easy to separate once you get a corner going.
Once you have separated the layers (usually you will have one printed and a few white or plain colours) lay the pattern side down on a flat surface.
Cut some pieces of double sided tape and lay down on the back side of the tissue. Using your finger or a bone folder smooth out the tape.
Using your scissors, cut around the tape. Peel the backing off and have fun!
So easy and the possibilities are endless.
Will post more soon! :) xox

I'm back :)
So I'm back - sorry for the long delay in posts. It's been a great summer of rediscovering myself and I have to say that I am the happiest that I have been in a very long time. I have been on this new journey to rediscovering myself. I have signed up for Brave Girls Club - Soul Restoration 1 and I love it!! Have only done 3 weeks (yes I'm behind) but it feels great. So empowering. I have also discovered this wonderful book called Me Before We by Christine Arylo and it has awakened me and has enabled me to take my life off of autopilot and take control of my own happiness. :) :) I truly feel like I have found my wings :) ... if you have been following my blog you would have recognized a little patterned of how I felt like I just wanted to be free and fly... I am happy to say that I have found my wings and am learning to fly again :) :)
I was inspired to create this page and it came together pretty quickly. I used Rhonna Farrer's Spring Mix digital elements and printed them on transparencies (hence the glossy shine - sorry). I used an old patterned paper for the background and used a doily to stencil white paint onto the page to create texture. Then i watered down some teal paint *heart teal* and got messy :) *so love getting messy* :)
Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope to create again soon :)

hello *there* hand of the maker
Starting today for two weeks I am the featured artist at the Art Hive as part of their Hand of The Maker series. I had a hard time finding the time to make product but had a blast with these projects. I went with a Fly Away With Me theme - with butterflies, birds, kites and hot air balloons. I have been on a new personal adventure to rediscover who I am (signed up for the Soul Restoration Brave Girls Club and sooo excited!!) and birds/butterflies/kites and hot air balloons mean so much to me as they symbolize freedom - freedom of truth :)
Here are some pics of my items. All proceeds will go towards the JDRF Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes. For more info on hello *there* click here.http://hellothere-jdrf.blogspot.com/

Crop Suey July Challenge
Crop Suey's July challenge was a great one to spark my creative mojo! This month we challenge you to get dirty with ink, paint or anything that may stain your fingers :)
I was inspired by a digital creation of Rhonna Farrer's and wanted to have lots of little stamped elements peeking from behind the photo mat. Lots of inking, & spraying here. Love the layers to this one!
Don't forget to play along as you have until the 20th to join us!
Bye for now! Happy creating!

But I finally got some inspiration and used it to scrap my July Crop Suey page! Love how it turned out and hope you will too! You will have to wait until July 5th to see it so make sure to please come back then!
Have a great day!
